Bandcamp have released a new feature as a hopeful placeholder to live performance: BandCamp Live. The feature was announced yesterday, with artists already onboard for gigs. BandCamp take 10% off the fee, but this is waived until 31st March, 2020.
Yet another fantastic move from the company who seems to be single handedly saving the music industry.
Are you gonna do it? I think this will be a really important space to let creativity thrive and artists connect directly to fans. What’s more, I can really see new, budding artists doing the most with this. Sets, video effects, set up, location - I hope people go all the way.
