Introduce yourself

Who am I?

I’m Joeri, an odd looking name that’s simply pronounced Yuri, but slightly better known as DJ Lemahnav. Since childhood I’ve always been exploring my musical side. As a marketing consultant by day and vergunning techno DJ by night I’ve got quite a busy life, but it’s all good fun.

What do I create?

Techno music, techno DJ sets. I mostly love progressive techno genres between 128 and 135 bpm. I create high-energy sets for a club environment, however I’m quite partial to a good loungy afternoon party too.

Having always played the piano, it’s a sound I love to bring into my mixes and into the music I started to produce.

Which studio do I use?

The studios in Hackney Wick are fantastic, however the ones in Wandsworth are closer to my home. I switch between both, depending on how luxurious I’m feeling

What do I listen to?

I’ll listen to anything anyone throws at me, though I strongly prefer electronic music genres. Music strongly influences my mood, so I’ll always try to play something that fits the environment I’m in.

Can’t go wrong with techno, house, or some EDM.

Who am I?

Heya! My name is Harry and my producer/DJ name is BONE. I originally come from an orchestral background having studied orchestral percussion and throughout this period I composed, arranged, performed and experienced a wide range of musical styles.

After a few years of freelancing and working odd jobs the pandemic struck and forced me to rest. That time gave me a change of heart of career pathways and I then began to develop an interest in field recording + sound design, which made me do a MA degree in Innovation in Sound - 'Data Analysis of Noise Pollution in Suburban Environments. Human perception and the inclusion of other species that are a part of the Suburban Soundscape.’

Throughout all of this, I was producing music for myself but since the pandemic, I’ve decided to go after music producer/dj-ing as a career - my first goal is to make a living from it and inspire people to do anything you want, no matter where you are in life.

What do I create?

I create ambient remixes and produce techno (release coming September) but not limited to DnB (TBC). I also make DJ mixes that tend to vary - I see my mixes made more for radio, listening on-the-go and purely for satisfaction but trying to get my mixes heard and try to land a gig.

Which studio do I use?
I’m new to Pirate so yet to use a studio but the closest one is Bristol :stuck_out_tongue:

What do I listen to?
I listen to electronic based music, whether I like it or not, because I want to experience a variety of styles. My main inspiration is Aphex Twin purely from an artistic point of view and also artists such as Four Tet, Floating Points, Caribou, Skream, Eats Everything and so on.

Thanks for reading

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Josh! Lead Singer/Frontman of an indie pop / alternative band known as Divided Compass and from the best part of London… SOUTH LONDON!!! We started off as just a small project between two Visually Impaired friends back in 2018 (Louis Moorhouse | NW Yorkshire) releasing an EP in 2019 from a bunch a songs written in 2016 and then introduced a third person who is also our secondary producer / songwriter and our main drummer (Harry Sorrell (East London/Essex). 2021 saw us make up the band we are today and also saw us release a single known as “Come On”. 2022 saw us come back from a short break due to some work commitments, this meant releasing a new single called “Destined Future” that followed on from the single before that “Come On”. Our line up has changed since an may change slightly again soon as we’re looking for a keys player and a new Bassist to take on a perm role in the band (so if interested feel free to contact me)! But of current the line up is:

Joshua Ulysses | Lead Vocalist / Bassist
Graham Plummer-Mosere | Guitarist
Alexandra Ulysses | Bassist / Vocalist
Harry Sorrell | Drummer

We’ve played at some notable venues such as:

The Fiddlers Elbow - Camden
Luna Lounge - Leytonstone
The Man of Kent - Nunhead

And are booked in to play at:

The Ninth Life - Catford
The Beehive - Bromley-By-Bow

What do I create?

As an individual, I used to work as a Video Intern at a company called Pollen who worked with large artists and other notable brands as a promotions company. Since that has ended I’ve been on the search for Videography/Photography jobs wether in film/tv or in the music buiz. However, my current sort of job is being a musician and a frontman to this amazing project/band. When we’re not rehearsing I tend to produce tracks with Harry and Louis that fit the vibe of the lyrics. As a project, we’re not confined to one genre (wtf is a genre???)! So one moment we can be working on something quite slow and depressing, then the next is quite poppy and upbeat. Tracks we have released already sort of hit on sounds from Indie to Reggaeton/Island to Ballads and the occasional kind of 90s Hip/Hop trait. If I could say an artist we’re creatively close to in inspiration it would have to be BASTILLE.

Which studio do I use?

We sort of fluctuate between different venues. Our main stay is usually Greenwich, but here and there we tend to either use Dalston or Hackney. Recently we’ve not been using a pirate within the last few weeks due to budgetary issue and so with the handyness of using our drummers uni space we’ve been saving up to return back to our beloved pirate work space!

What do I listen to?

As an individual I’m a sucker for anything as long as I am able to understand and process the meaning of the piece. At the moment I’ve stayed to liking stuff like Synth Pop / Alternative / Indie / Rock / Rap and Afrobeat / Reggae. Artists in particular I listen to are: Fickle Friends, Bastille, Joywave, The Wombats, AJR, MJ, Derek Sands and Bob Marley.

As a band we take our influences at a shared sort of value. Again me with my likes of Bastille and AJR, our Drummers love for the Beatles and Phil Collins and our Guitarists love for heavy rock from the 70s/80s as well as his undying love for Brian May and then our current Bassists love for Tate McRae / Olivia Rodrigo etc

All a varied sort of taste of music!

That’s all from us though! Hopefully shall see you all around! Be great to get talking with any of you and maybe we can collab / join forces sometime.

Much Love!!!
