Just really looking for some advice and its not something I normally produce, same with the vocalist. Any advice is appreciated for the future!
yo @KnockDownGinger just had a couple spins, here’s the main things that stick out to me.
-
The vocal and the beat sound like two different songs, the beat was vibey, vintage with a laid back bounce to it (nice work) and the vocal was super upfront, aggressive with a monotone drill-type delivery.

I think its for that mis-matched reason that the vocal performance isn’t riding on the beat nice, some parts sound like they’re rushing and others dragging. The vocalist’s performance isn’t in the same environment as where the beats trying to take the listener, so overall it makes for a confusing listening experience.
I think you should experiment with redoing the vocal performance for this beat, something a little more hip-hop, something that makes me wanna drive with the top down and I’m just bouncing
As for the vocal, its asking for a harder drill beat so try producing a different beat for it, his voice I think would suit an aggressive vibe much more, something that bangs you in the chest.
I can hear what you’re both bringing to the table, I think you just need to play to each others strengths more and tailor the tunes to them. keep smashing out tunes
Hey mate, cheers for the feedback, much appreciated. This was released after the original, kind of just something as a test to see what type of music people prefer listening to.

I feel you, it’s good to always push the boundaries! I see the vision with the Original flows much nicer👌🏽
Cheers mate, Thanks for the feedback
