Filling out your profile is one of the key ways to be discovered (and discover) by likeminded Pirates. In this guide, we’ll explain every section of your profile and what it means.

ACCESSING YOUR PROFILE
To access and edit your profile, click your profile icon in the top right-hand corner of Community and select ‘edit profile’.
From here, you’ll be taken directly to your Artist Profile. Before building your profile, click the ‘Account’ button in the left-hand column to select a new name and profile picture (more on that below).
NAME AND PROFILE IMAGE
To edit your profile picture, click the pencil next to the image (when you first log in it may just be your initial). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This will open a pop-up, as below, that will allow you to custom select and image. Upload your picture, and select Save Changes. ,
Similarly, to change your username from the generic one you’re given when you first sign-up, click the pencil icon on your existing name and type a new one out. Note: you can’t have spaces in your name, so it’s best to use an underscore to separate words.
Once you’ve updated your profile picture and username, click ‘Artist Profile’ on the left-hand column to to complete the rest of your Community profile (more on that below).
PROFILE TAB
Vision
This is perhaps the most important part of your profile. It’s your chance to tell the world what you want to do and what you’re working on, in 280 characters or less. What are your career goals? Aspirations? Update it as often as you like.
Your preferred Pirate location
Choose a location from the drop-down menu. It could be your closest studio or the place where you’d like to collaborate.
What I do (optional)
Choose up to three disciplines that best describe your areas of expertise. For now, (but soon to be expanded) the options are: MC, Rapper, Vocalist, Producer, Label owner, Songwriter, Instrumentalist, Sound designer, Mixing engineer Recording engineer
You’ll be able to expand on these in the skills section.
Collaboration
Are you happy to contact and be contacted by others to collaborate on music? If so, select this option, it’ll increase the chances of people reaching out.
Label (optional)
Tell us if you’re signed to a label. If you leave this section blank it won’t appear on your profile.
SoundCloud (optional)
Paste the URL to a song or playlist from your SoundCloud account— it’ll appear as a playable section in your profile.
SKILLS TAB
Skills and qualities
- What are you really good at? Choose up to ten skills that describe your abilities.
- What are you like to work with? Choose up to ten characteristics that help people get a sense of who you are.
Genres
Tell us what you’d like to collaborate on, and your influences if relevant. You can choose up to ten of each. To find your genres, just start typing the name. A list will appear that you can select from.
WORK IN PROGRESS TAB
You can share a link of what you’re working on here. Choose up to three pieces of work to showcase at once.
If you haven’t updated your WIP tab, a message like this will appear when you view your profile:
